Who We Are at North County Rangers Baseball Club

CODE OF CONDUCT

Rangers Loyalty Policy

Note: This policy does not apply to players participating in Rangers Baseball Academy.

At the North County Rangers, we uphold a strict loyalty policy concerning players' commitment to our program. This policy is designed to prioritize the stability and safety of our athletes and ensure long-term success for those who choose to be part of our community. Our coaches dedicate time and effort to those who are fully committed to the Rangers, and we do not encourage players to "jump" from club to club. Participation in other teams can also pose safety concerns for the athlete. With that in mind, we have a policy that players who choose to leave the Rangers to join another travel baseball team or club will not be eligible to return to our program. If the fit is not the right match at this time, we believe it may not be the best fit moving forward.

We understand that our program may not be the right fit for every player, and we respect that decision. However, we aim to foster long-term commitment, and we prefer to invest our time and resources in families who are equally committed to our program. Players who stay with the Rangers will have access to unique, life-changing opportunities that no other club in the region can offer. We reserve these opportunities for loyal and committed families who share our dedication to growth and success.

Playing for Other Teams and/or Guest Playing

If you choose to play for the Rangers, we expect the Rangers to be your #1 priority team and take precedence over any other team or commitment.

Rec Ball (Pony/Little League): We allow players to participate in Spring or Fall recreational league teams. However, we will not carry a player on our tournament team during that time. The reason is that the Rangers teams need to be fully committed during the Summer events, such as the World Series, which may conflict with the recreational league All-Star season.

Rec Ball (Fall All-Star or Travel Clubs associated with Rec Leagues): We do not allow Rangers tournament players to participate in Fall Ball or All-Star Travel Teams associated with recreational leagues. This can create scheduling conflicts, affecting attendance and overall team quality. If you wish to participate in Fall Ball with friends and volunteer coaches, who may not always prioritize your child's long-term development, we respect your decision. However, we recommend enrolling in our rangers baseball academy during this period, rather than committing to a Rangers team. This will allow your child to continue developing in a focused, structured environment.

Travel Baseball Clubs/Other Teams: Rangers players are not permitted to play for other travel baseball clubs or teams while enrolled with us.Special Circumstances: If there are special circumstances that might require an exception, please speak with your coach. As long as these exceptions do not impact the points addressed above, we will consider your request on a case-by-case basis.

Leaving Rangers

If you decide to leave the Rangers, we wish you the best and understand that our program may not be the right fit for everyone. We respect the decisions parents make for the well-being and development of their child. However, we do not allow players to return to the Rangers once they have left. Based on our experience of over the years, we have found that if the fit is not right now, it is unlikely to be the right fit later.

If you choose to pause your participation with the Rangers for any reason other than joining another club (e.g., taking a break for Spring Rec ball), we are generally understanding and will have no issues. For example, some players take a break during the Spring and return in June to resume their participation.

We recognize that not every experience at the Rangers will be perfect. There may be times when you disagree with a decision, such as a coaching call or team-related issue. We make mistakes too, and we are open to constructive feedback. If you are facing challenges, we encourage you to first schedule a call with one of our directors. A conversation can often resolve misunderstandings and help move things forward.

Thank you for your understanding and commitment to the Rangers organization. We are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for our loyal families and athletes.

Guest Playing on Other Teams Not Permitted: I understand that guest playing on other teams is not allowed. This policy is designed to ensure all players receive sufficient rest and recovery, which helps reduce the risk of injury. If my athlete plans to participate in recreational league baseball in addition to the Rangers, I will inform the coach in advance.*

Key Policies & Expectations for Tournament Teams:

Our Advanced Level Tournament Teams are designed for higher-level competition, where playing time is earned, and the focus is on excelling in tournament play. One of our strengths as an organization is having multiple teams in different competitive environments, allowing us to place players where they fit best for their development.

We understand that this placement may not always align with parental expectations, but our priority is ensuring players are in an environment where they can grow, contribute, and improve. If your goal aligns with ours—to help your child develop as a player—then we ask for your trust in our plan. If you don’t feel this is the right fit for your family, we respect that decision, but it’s essential to align on expectations now to avoid future frustrations.

Starting In 2024, we’re placing an even greater emphasis on the competitive nature of our tournament teams. With this shift, there are some important policies and expectations to consider:

Playing Time Prioritization: In tournament games, we will prioritize playing the players we believe are best suited for the situation.

Player Roles: Some players may be designated as substitutes or Pitchers Only (including on Saturdays).

Effort to Include All Players: While we will always strive to get everyone into games, it cannot be guaranteed. Instances where a player doesn’t get any playing time at all will be rare, but they may occur.

Proactive Communication: If you have concerns about your child’s role or playing time, please bring it up with us before an event so we can discuss and adjust expectations.

Alternative Opportunities: If dissatisfaction arises regarding playing time on a tournament team, we are happy to provide alternative opportunities on other teams or programs to ensure your child continues to grow, play, and develop.

No Exclusive Substitutes: No player in our organization will be expected to serve exclusively as a substitute. We will always provide opportunities for subsidized playing time to make up for missed chances.
